RELIEF ACTIVITIES LATEST UPDATES 21st February 2006
 
         Mr. Qazi Yawar Naeem (Country manager of Pakistan International Development and Land-o"Lakes Inc.) visited Mustafai Khema Basti Islamabad along with Mr. Mahboob ALy Manji (CE Vita Bread and President of Mamba & Meena Welfare Foundation). Mr Khawaja Safdar Amin (Camp Incharge), Mr. Mumtaz Ahmad Rabbani (Administrator of Camp), Mr. Sajjad Nazish and many other Mustafai Workers welcome the honourable personalities. Mr. Khawaja Safdar Amin briefed them about the latest updates of Al-Mustafa. The personalities paied their remarks in the guest book.
RELIEF ACTIVITIES LATEST UPDATES ( 22-01-2006 to 07-02-2006)
 
          Dr. Hamza Mustafai and Aslam Alveri the members of Al-Mustafa Central Relief Committee surveyed Rawalakot and Bagh to select suitable site for construction of twenty (20) Mustafai Shelter homes and one shelter mosque. Mr. Iftrikhar Inqlabi President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Rawalkot, Mr. Abdul Qayyum Khan, Muhammad Hanif, Mr. Ijaz and other workers of Society welcomed them. The process of site selection for deserving families of quake victims would be finalized within a couple of days.
 
-           After night stay at Rawalakot, Al-Mustafa delegation reached Bagh on the Saturday's morning. Mr. Basharat Gardezi, Syed Wajahat Gardezi and other works were present on this occasion. A sum of Rs.390,000/- was paid to Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Bagh in connection with Qurbani Project. Syed Wajahat Gardezi presented a scheme of twelve (12) shelter home (5 for widows and 7 for general public) and one shelter Mosque in Kashmiri Refugee Camp near Bagh. The beneficiaries also include close relatives of Mehfooz Shaheed Nishane Haider.
 
-           The members of Al-Mustafa Relief Committee expressed their satisfaction on the significant contribution of Al-Mustafa Bagh and Rawalakot in relief and rescue operation for earth quake victims.
RELIEF ACTIVITIES LATEST UPDATES ( 29-12-2005 to 21-01-2006)
 
  • Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shaukat Aziz visited Mustafai Khema Basti at Thori Camp, Muzaffarabad on Eid Day. He spent some time with the affected families and expressing his sympathies assured full support to them.
    Pir Naqeeb-ur-Rehman, the renowned religious figure visited Mustafai Khema Basti, H-11, Islamabad on 19th January 2006. He met with affected families, distributed cash (one thousand per family) and gifts packs to them. He lauded the efforts of Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies (Network) and prayed for health and safety of the affected peoples.
  • A meeting of Al-Mustafa workers held in the AIMS-House, Karachi on the 7th January 2006. Mr. Aslam Alveri, Secretary, Al-Mustafa Central Relief & Rehabilitation Committee briefed the participants about Mustafai Shelter Homes Project, Qurbani Project, Mustafai Schools Project and Mustafai Langar Project initiated by Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies (Network) in quake hit areas.
  • Mr.Mujeeb-ur-Rehman reports from Balakot that Mustafai Shelter Homes at Darweshabad, Kaghan, Naran Road have been completed and occupied by the quake hit families. Formal ceremony for award of possession letters had to be postponed due to sever cold and snowfalling.
  • Ch.Ishaq reports from Mansehra that Mustafai Shelter Homes Project at Gandhian (Mansehra) has been completed. It includes shelters for widows, Imam Masjid and a shelter Mosques made of G.I.Sheets. The piece of lands at Gandhian (Mansehra) and Darweshabad have been donated by the local community.
  • A meeting of Central Relief & Rehabilitation committee of Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies (Network) held on 6th & 7th January 2006 at Karachi. Mr.Ahmad Abdul Shakoor, the Chairman, Mr.Manaf Alana, Dr.Hamza Mustafai, Mr. Aslam Alveri and Mr.Riaz-ud-Din Noori attended the meeting.The committee besides reviewing the progress on relief and rehabilitation work also made important decision to conduct these activities in a befitting manner.
    Dr.Hamza reports that more than one thousand Cows, Sheep and Goats have been slaughtered on Eid-ul-Azha in different Mustafai Khema basties at Muzaffarabad, Islamabad, Bagh, Rawlakot, Balakot and Mansehra. Besides plenty of Qurbani Mutton & Beef donated by the Mustafai Community was distributed among the 32000 residents of Mustafai Camps.
  • Dr.Tasleem Qureshi, President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, Multan reports to have dispatched 400 pounds meat for Mustafai Langar.
  • Sahibzada Ata-ul-Mustafa Noori, the member CRRC of Al-Mustafa has reached Faisalabad after performing Haj.
  • Hafiz Muhammad Shafiq, President Al-Quran Foundation Vincmsm USA reached Islamabad on 21st Jan 2006 after performing Haj.Workers of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society (Network) warmly welcomed to him at the Airport.
RELIEF ACTIVITIES LATEST UPDATES ( 27-12-2005 to 28-12-2005)
 
  • Mian Farooq Mustafai Relief Coordinator, Rana Gul Nawaz Vice President AMWS Islamabad, Abdul Shakoor Mahrvi President AMWS Muzaffarabad, Prof.Maroof Chohan President AMWS Kotli, Mr. Nadeem Tahir from AMWSN Muzaffarabad, Mr. Muhammad Aslam Alvari and Mumtaz Ahmad Rabbani from Mustafai Foundation participated in NGOs conference convened by AJK Council and Govt. of AJK on 26 December, 2005 in hotel Marriot Islamabad. Forty International and more than eighty national NGOs attended the conference. Mian Farooq Mustafai presented activities and relief plan of AMWSN for earthquake victims. A leaflet containing summery of activities and contributions of AMWS was also distributed among the participants.
  • Mr. Muhammad Aslam Alvari member Centeral Relief Committee of Al Mustafa hosted a dinner in honour of leaders of Al-Mustafa from Muzaffarabad and Kotli. Mr. Abdul Shakoor Mahrvi, Atiq Raza Kiani, Ishaq Zafar, Shoib Sulehri, Dr. Hamza Mustafai, Mian Farooq Mustafai, Mumtaz Ahmad Rabbani were also present on this occasion. Mr. Abdul Shakoor Mehrvi and Shoib Sulehri briefed the members of the Central Relief Committee of their relief activities, operational and organizational constraints and future plan.
  • A group of social activists comprising Mr. Imran Malik from USA, Mr. Haidar Nawab from Canada and Mr. Asad Nawab from Pakistan visited Mustafai Khema Basti (MKB) sector H-11 Islamabad on 27 December 2005 and distributed 123 mattresses among the inhabitants of MKB.
  • As a preparatory armaments for Eid-ul-Azha, Al-Mustafa Industrial Home started sewing of more than 200 suits for children of age 1 to 10 years. A local NGO ( ) will finance this activity.
  • Quaid-e-Azam day was celebrated in Mustafai School at MKB Islamabad on 27 December 2005. Prof. Imran Shazad and Mr. Mumtaz Ahmad Rabbani delivered lectures on the life and contributions of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The students of Mustafai School presented different items on this occasion. At the end, gifts were distributed among the children.

  • Marriage ceremony of Thasllema Bibi D/o Barkat-u-Llah resident of Mustafai Khema basti Sector H-11 Islamabad was held on 24th of Decemeber with simplicity and dignity. Mr. Mumtaz Ahmad Rabbani, Prof. Imran Shahzad, Prof. Abdul Saboor, Sajjad Nazish, Muhammad Haroon Rashid and large number of Mustafai workers and the ralatives of both families attended the marriage party.
  • Hafiz Muhammad Shafique Director Al-Quran Foundation, Milwakee Wiscnsin (USA) visited Mustafai Khema Basti Sector H-11 Islamabad. Mr. Iqbal Shad of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Jehlam was also with him. Mr. Aslam Alvari, Prof. Imran Shahzad and Mumtaz Ahmad Rabbani welcome the distinguished guests and briefed them about latest developments and Rehabilitation projects.

  • In Mustafai Khema Basti held here in sector H-11 Islamabad, a marriage ceremony of a girl will perform at 1:00 pm. In this ceremony alot of vips are invited and also Pakistani media will be present at ceremony.
  • 36 tones pulses dispatched from Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, Karachi to Islamabad by Mr. Zubair Ashrafi for Mustafai Langar at various places.
  • 03 truck loads of dates distributed among the residents of Mustafai Khema Bastis and other tent villages at H-11, Islamabad.

  • Dr.Hamza Mustafai, Relief Coordinator for NWFP and Khawaja Safdar, Project Director Mustafai Khema Basti (MKB), Islamabad held meeting with Unicef to revive educational activities in 03 government schools in Balakot city.
  • Mustafai Foundation(MF) will provide tents, chairs, blackboards and Unicef have committed for provision of books, stationary items. Government teachers has already called on duty.
  • Mustafai Foundation has established a Makeshift Mustafai School in MKB, Garlat (Balakot). More than 100 students have been registered so far and more are expected.
  • In another meeting with Unicef, Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies (Network) has decided to launch a cleaning campaign for removing debris and litters from public offices and schools to revive them at the earliest. Mr.Shafiq Chisti,
    Mr. M. Hanif Abbasi and Mr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman will coordinate and manage the cleaning campaign. More than 1000 Mustafai Razakars will participate in the cleaning campaign.
  • A shed costing Rs.1 Lac has been set up for Mustafai Langar at Balakot to cater the food requirement of 1500 peoples two times.
  • Partner Aid International (PAI) in a meeting with Dr.Hamza Mustafai and Khawaja Safdar has agreed to impart technical training to Mustafai Razakars and collaborate with Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies (Network) in their re-
    habilitation project and to provide shelters for 5000 families in Balakot. The home design by PAI would accommodate the family of 10 persons and will also protect against hard seasons in winter and summer.
  • MF has reestablished 20 damaged schools (08 Mustafai Schools and 06 private schools) in Muzaffarabad.
  • MF has provided tents, tables, chairs, blackboards and other materials to establish Mustafai Schools in Mustafai
  • Khema Basti at Miran Tanoolian and Thoori Park at Muzaffarabad. Mr.Tanveer Abbasi has been nominated to
    coordinate and supervise educational activities in consultation with School Committee comprising Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Bukhari, Zahid Kazmi and Wajid Shakir.
  • MF in collaboration with Educacy Foundation, Islamabad has arranged 02 days teachers training workship from 7th to 8th Dec.,2005 at Mustafai Khema Basti, Islamabad. Teachers of Mustafai Schools and from other institutions attended the workshop. Famous educationists and scholars Mr.Abbas Hussain of Teachers Development Centre,
  • Karachi was the Chief Guest. Mr.Mumtaz Rabbani and Prof. Imran welcomed the participants and honourable guests.
  • Surayia Farooq Charitiable foundation, Karachi also cooperated in the  arrangements.
  • Prince Karim Agha Khan visited Mustafai Khema Basti at Thoori Camp, Muzafarabad.
  • Two new Mustafai Khema Bastis are being established at Malikpur and Tandoli, Muzaffarabad. Japan Platform - a consortium of NGOs will finance both the projects. Mr.Amanat Ali Zeb is coordinating with the Japan Platform
    for establishment of these Khema Bastis of 300 tents each.

Islamabad:
  • A four member’s team of Italian volunteers including Mr. Sultan Faiz President International community Support Foundation Italy and Raja Ibrar of Al-Mustafa Italy visited Mustafai Khema Basti at sector H-11 and distributed toys and winter clothes for children. Mr. Pregmana Soccorso Omlus while expressing his feelings about the camp said “We are very much satisfied with the arrangements at Mustafai Khema Basti.
  • AMWSN plans to construct five hundred shelters in various affected areas.
  • Arif Bashir Choudhary Executive Member Islamic Chember of Commerce and Industry Islamabad. Eng. Haji Baroo Khan Member Managing Committee the Federation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Pakistan visited Mustafai Khema Basti and distributed cash and other items among the residents of Mustafai Khema Basti Islamabad.
  • Mr. Muhammad Ilyas Dar Chief Executive Faisal Fan Industries Gujrat visited Mustafai Khema Basti and distributed Rs.500/- to each family of Mustafai Khema Basti Islamabad.
  • Senior Columnist of Nawa-e-Waqt Dr. Hussain Ahmad Paracha visited Mutafai Khema Basti sector H-11 Islamabad and appreciated the workers for their dedicated work for victims. He promised to highlight relief activities of AMWSN in his columns.
  • Nizam-u-Din Siddiqui Senior. Reporter Dawn surveyed Mustafai Khema Basti, conducted interviews of different families and visited Mustafai School, Hospital, Al-Mustafa Industrial Home and Mustafai Lungar. He specially interviewed a disable person who has been provided a sewing machine to work and earn his livelihood.
  • A group of journalists from Daily Khabrain, The Post and Daily Jung Rawalpindi visited Mustafai Khema Basti.
  • A PTV media team visited Mustafai Khema Basti for coverage of different facilities and services provided by AMWSN.
AJK:
  • Chief Relief Coordinator Mian Farooq Mustafai and Khawaja Safdar Amin Project Director of AMWSN Islamabad on behalf of Mustafai Foundation donated 40 tents with furniture and other educational aids including blackboards, Teacher chairs, Chalk and Banners for revival of 20 schools (8 Mustafai Schools, 6 Suffa Schools of Learning and 6 other private Institutions affiliated with Mustafai Foundation.) damaged by earthquake in Muzaffarabad. Mr. Ishtiaq Hussain Bukhari Coordinator Mustafai Foundation Muzaffarabad received these items.
  • Mustafai Foundation has set up a three members committee comprising Syed Ishtiaq Bukhari, Wajid Shakir and Zahid Hussain Kazmi to distribute the goods to effected schools and report on different needs and activities.
NWFP:
  • Dr. Hamza Mustafai reports that AMWSN has distributed gift items among 250 widows belonging to affected areas of Balakot Distt. The ceremony held for this purpose in central relief camp was inaugurated by Col. Saeed Army Relief Commissioner Balakot. The chief guest appreciated the relief efforts of AMWSN especially the Mustafai Lungar, providing food for more than two thousands peoples at Balakot.
  • Mustafai Khema Basties of 340 tents have been established in different affected areas of Balakot and Mansehra including near Bela Podina Balakot (150 tents), Upper Garlat Balakot (80 Tents), Bela Garlat Balakot (50 Tents), Ghazi Kot Mansehra (30 Tents) and Ergheshori Batgram (30 Tents). More than 2500 peoples have been provided shelters and other basic facilities in these Mustafai Khema Basties.
  • The leaders of AMWSN including Mr. Ahmad Abdul Shakoor, Munaf Allana, Hafiz Tariq Mehmood Raza, Ahmad Hussain Bawa, Khawaja Safdar Amin, Mumtaz Ahmad Rabbani and Inayat-ur-Rehman Siddiqui participated in marriage ceremony of woman at Mustafai Khema Basti financed by AMWSN.
  • A Turkish NGO is providing one thousand breads (Double Roti) daily for Mustafai Khema Basties established at Balakot.
 Karachi:
  • Mustafai Schools working in different areas of Pakistan will cater the educational needs of fifty schools in affected areas. Initially students of Academy of Islamic and Modern Studies (AIMS) Karachi have donated student registers coasting Rs.25000/-.
Multan:
  • Mr. Muhammad Aslam Alvari of Mustafai Foundation had a meeting with Dr. Tasleem Qurashi President AMWS Multan and Mr. Wasim Mumtaz at his residence. He briefed the relief activities and future projects of AMWSN and Mustafai Foundation for revival of educational activities in the quake hit areas. Dr. Tasleem Qurashi committed to launch a campaign and provide one thousand school bags for this purpose.
Khanewal:
  • A meeting of AMWS Khanewal was convened to consider relief activities of AMWS in the affected areas. Mr. Muhammad Aslam Alvari apprised the participants of relief and rehabilitation activities and details of Mustafai Khema Basties established in various affected areas. Mr. Muhammad Sarwar, Mr. Muhammad Arshad and Mr. Akmal Faridi were also present on this occasion. The society appreciated the efforts of AMWSN and assured their full cooperation.
Mian Channu:
  • Mr. Muhammad Aslam Alvari the member central relief and rehabilitation committee of AMWSN along with Rana Muhammad Sarwar President AMWS Khanewal visited Mian Channu and had a meeting with Mr. Abdul Wahid Mughal President Mustafai Tehreek Punjab at his residence. Haji Farooq Tasneem was also present on this occasion. Different issues related with relief activities and coordination among different bodies were discussed. Mr. Abdul Wahid Mughal told that he has visited different Mustafai Khema Basties at releif efforts of AMWSN and Mustafai Raza Kars are highly appreciable. He desired all members of Mustafai Tahreek to actively participate in the relief and rehabilitation work initiated by AMWSN.

  • Ahmad Abdul Shakoor chairman Centeral Relief & rehabilitation Committee of Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies Network reached Islamabad along with Mr. Munaf Alana the trusty of Al-Mustafa Welfare trust Karachi, Mr. Ahmad Bawa and Mr. Tahir Anjum. They visited Mustafai Khema Basti Islamabad and inspected various facilities & services including Mustafai School, Mustafai Langar and Al-Mustafa Industrial home. Mr. Farooq Mustafai Relief coordinator, Sahibzada Atta-ul-Mustafa Noori member relief committee, Khawaja Safadar Amin Incharge Mustafai Khema Basti and workers of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society welcome the honorable guest.

  • A meeting of central relief & rehabilitation committee of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society held in Islamabad yesterday evening at the residence of Muhammad Aslam Alvari. Mr. Ahmad Abdul Shakoor (President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Karachi.) was in chair. The meeting was attended by Mr. Tariq Mahmood Raza (Ex Ameer Mustafai Tahreek),  Dr. Hamza Mustafai, Mian Farooq Mustafai (Mustafai Tahreek), Mr. Ahmad Waqar Madni (President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Rawalpindi.), Khawaja Safdar Amin (Mustafai Camp Incharge.), Mr. Munaf Alana (Trusty Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Karachi.) and Mr. Ahmad Bawa (Director AIMS School system Karachi.). Issues related with relief activities and rehabilitation plan were discussed. Mr. Ahmad Abdul Shakoor lauded the efforts of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and stressed for more coordinated and well disciplined activities to help the quake victims. 

  • A delegation of Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust Karachi led by Mr. Ahmad Abdul Shakoor (President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Karachi) visited different Mustafai Khema Basti at Balakot and supervise the distribution of Mustafai Langar and relief goods among the quake victims. Mr. Munaf Alana (Trusty of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Karachi), Mr. Ahmad Bawa, Mr. Khawaja Safdar Amin were in the delegation.

  • Sahibzada Atta-ul-Mustafa Noori after inaugurating the Mustafai Langar at Mustafai Khema Basti Balakot have reached Faisalabad.

  • Mr. Anwar-ul-Haq Qurashi Advocate received three trucks load of relief goods donated by Red Crescent UAE and dispatched them to Shankiari Mansehra and Muzaffarabad.

  • Dr. Rowan Williams (Archbishop of Canterbury) visited Mustafai Khema Basti Islamabad. Dr. Naseer Ahmad Khan (Federal Minister of Health), Chairman CDA Kamran Lashari and others were present on this occasion. Mr. Khawaja Safdar Amin (Incharge of the camp), Sahibzada Atta-ul-Mustafa Noori (President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Faisalabad), Mr Munaf Alana, Mr. Ahmad Bawa, Mr. Ahmad Abdul Shakoor and other members of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society welcomed the distinguished guest and brief them about the relief activities of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society. RELIEF ACTIVITIES LATEST UPDATES ( 22-11-2005)

 

Islamabad:

  • New consignment of relief goods including 2000 blankets, winter cloths, dry milk and other food items donated by Red Crescent UAE reached Islamabad at Chaklala Airport. Mr. Anwar-ul-Haq Qurashi Advocate the representative of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society (AMWS) received the goods. These relief goods have been dispatched on seven trucks to Mustafai Khema Basti at Shahootar Balakot for distribution among the quake victims.

  • In view of increasing demand from the residence of other tent villages in Sector H-11-3, the Patel Hospital at Mustafai Khema Basti Islamabad sponsored by World Memon Fedration has decided to extend its services for twenty-four hours. Khawaja Safdar Amin has stressed on CDA and the donors to provide twenty-four hours ambulance service for the hospital.

  • A team of Mustafai Foundation comprising Aslam Alvri, Muneer Warsi and Prof. Imran had a meeting with a group of volunteer doctors belonging to UK that visited Mustafai Khema Basti Islamabad yesterday. Dr. Shamshad Syed and Dr. Robina lauded the efforts of Mustafai volunteers for their nice arrangements and desired mutual collaboration on the issue of the extending medical facilities to the other affected areas.

  • A delegation of Al-Mustafa comprising Mian Hamid Mukhtar, Dr. Hamza Mustafai and Aslam Alvri meet with Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah (Nazim-e-Ala Jamat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat) on moday evening and briefed him about the relief and rehabilitation activities of the society. Allama Riaz Hussain Shah appreciating the efforts of Al-Mustafa desired to extend it’s activities to the un-accessible areas of Mansehra, Batgram, Balakot and AJK. Before approaching harsh winter season.

Muzaffarabad:

  • Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies’s Network two-day cleanliness campaign ended on Sunday evening in Muzaffarabad. This campaign was inaugurated by AJK Minister and Chief of Cabinet Relief Committee Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Minister for Auqaf and Zakat Sahibzada Hamid Raza and the Ameer of Mustafai Tehreeq Main Farooq Musatfai. Hundreds of Mustafai workers and volunteers who reached from various cities of Pakistan took part in this sanitation drive to clean the streets, markets, parks, schools, shrines and mosques to restore the normal life in this devastated city. During this cleanliness drive the volunteers distributed the gifts among quake victims. The various public circles hailed this first ever and unique campaign.

 Balakot:

  • Mustafai Razakars after surveying the affected areas of Bhangian, Surban, Jhungri, Jubbi, Kalus, Jharian, Josacha, Khait, Lower Jabba, Upper Jabba, Chunian, Baila, Mandi, Bachian and Garlat villages have registered 607 families and issued them Rashan, Slips to get relief goods.

  • Mr. Mukhtar Rajpoot reported from the Mustafai Khema Basti Shahootar Balakot that distribution of relief goods has been started in affected areas of Balakot Tehsil.

  • Sahibzada Atta-ul-Mustafa Noori Vice President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Faisalabad after his visit to Muzaffarabad and Patika reached Balakot and inaugurated Mustafai Langur at Mustafai Khema Basti. He reported on telephone that more than 1000 quake victims benefited from Mustafai Langur today. 

  • Dr. Hamza Mustafai who is supervising the relief and rescue activities in Balakot and Mansehra informed that he has visited different sites to establish new Khema Basties for quake victims of remote areas. The villages of Mung, Sunghar, Sandesar and Shawal are likely to be selected for this purpose. 

  • After preliminary survey of affected areas and discussion with the local communities Dr. Hamza Mustafai told that peoples of far flung areas are still waiting for suitable implements for digging and removing the debris to recover their belongings and costly goods before they leave the places and seek refuge in the tent villages.

  • UN Secretary General Kofi Anan and President Pervez Musharaf visited Mustafai Khema Basti at Thuri Camp, Muzaffarabad yesterday morning.
  • A new Mustafai Khema Basti is being established at Balakot near General Bus Stand on the bank of river Kunar. Dr. Hamza Mustafai and Mr.Inayat-ur-Rehman Siddiqui  are in Balakot to supervise relief activities and distribution of goods among the quake victims belonging to un-accessible areas.
  • Hundreds of Mustafai Razakars reached Muzaffarabad to participate in CLEAN THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN launched by Al-Mustafa Welfare Society today morning. Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Chairman, Cabinet Relief Committee and Minister for Revenue and Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Minister Auqaf, Govt. of AJK and Mian Farooq Mustafai, Ameer Mustafai Tehrik addressed the workers on this occasion. The slogan of the campaign is Rawan hey Zindagi. During two days campaign, the social activists of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society will render community services like cleaning the roads, schools, mosques, public parks, children play grounds by removing debris and litters. The people of Muzaffarabad will be encouraged and helped to open the shops, schools and mosques badly damaged by the earthquake. Children tournaments, games and other coulorful functions will be held during the campaign, so as to normalize the civic condition and restore the beauty of the capital.

  • A delegation of Tanzeem-ul-Madaris led by Allama Syed Haseen-ud-Din Shah, Administrator, Zia-ul-Uloom, Rawalpindi visited Mustafai Khima Basti on the 14th November 2005. Mufti Sarfaraz Naeemi, Administrator, Jamia Naeemia, Lahore and Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Chairman, Roiat-e-Hilal Committee were also with him. They took keen interest in the Mustafai langar, Mustafai Schools, Quranic Literacy Centre and other facilities and services extended by the management.

  • The founding patron-in-chief of ATI, Maulana Jamil Ahmed Naeemi visited Mustafai Khima Basti, Islamabad on the 15th November 2005 and appreciated the efforts of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society.

Bradford (UK):

  • Hafiz Jamshid, Imam and Khateeb Jamia Hanfia, Bradford UK and representatives of Muslim community visited Mustafai Khima Basti. They discussed the details relief activities, things immediately required and assured their assistance for rehabilitation of quake victims.

 Tanda (Gujrat):

  • Chaudhry Rafiq Ashraf Sarraf and Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, Tanda (Gujrat) donated Gas Stoves and kitchen accessories for Mustafai langar for women. They also donated 150 black boards and teacher chairs for Mustafai Schools to be established in various areas affected by earthquake.

 Sarai Alamgir:

  • Delegation of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, Sarai Alamgir visited different Mustafai Khima Bastis established in Thori Camp, Mera Tanolian and Chela Bandi etc in Muzaffarabad on 13-11-2005. Mr.Muhammad Aslam Alveri, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Madni, Mr.Muhammad Arif and Mr.Muhammad Ibrar were included in the delegation. They also held a meeting with Mr. Ishaq Zafar, Hanif Hijazi, Mazhar Saleem, Atiq Raza Kiani and other leaders of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and donated a sum of Rs.70,000/= for Mustafai Langar and other necessities.

  • 08 Trucks food goods and blankets donated by Red Crescent, UAE dispatched to Balakot for distribution among the quake victims of remote and un-accessible areas. Dr. Hamza Mustafai (03333-5504899) and Mr.Inayat-ur-Rehman (0300-4103602) are supervising the distribution work.

  • Almustafa Welfare Societies Network has announced "Clean the City" campaign for Muzaffarabad city next week. This activity will start from 19th November till 21st November. Around 1000 Mustafai razakar are participating in this activity from all over Pakistan & AJK.

  • Almustafa Welfare Societies Network has provided tents for shelter & relief goods including food, cloth, medicine, beds etc. of worth 250 Million rupees to the displaced families in earthquake areas of AJK & NWFP. 

  • More than 18,000 people are provided shelter in eleven(11) Mustafai Khema Bastian with around 2800 tents in different earthquake effected areas. 

  • CDA has declared Mustafai Khema Basti as Model Khema Basti due to excellent arrangements for residents

  • A new Mustafai Khema Basti is established at village Soli(Forward Kahuta) district Bagh AJK with 30 tents providing shelter for 200 people.

  • Mian Farooq Mustafai told the newsmen that more than 5,000 Mustafai Razakar are actively participating in relief activities in collaboration with Pak Army, Govt. of AJK, UNHCR, HRF, Red Crescent UAE etc. Almustafa Welfare Societies Network has decided to setup makeshift school, mosque & industrial home in all khema bastie.

  • Red Crescent UAE has distributed 100 water proof tents & relief goods of amount 2.5 million rupees including food, medicine etc. to the victims through Almustafa Welfare Societies Network. Red Crescent UAE  will continue cooperation with Almustafa Welfare Societies Network to help the earthquake victims. These views are expressed by the President Red Crescent UAE, M. Saeed Al-Mansoori with a delegation during his visit to Mustafai Khema Basti in H-11. He appraised the establishment of Mustafai School & industrial Home.

  • Almustafa Welfare Societies Network has provided tents & relief goods to 60 Hindu families. These families belong to AJK. Almustafa Welfare Societies Network is also considering rehabilitation plan for these minorities in collaboration of Muslim Hands.

  • The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shoukat Aziz visited the Mustafai Khema Basti, H-11, Islamabad on Eid Day and shared the sorrows of  Quake victims families and children.
  •  President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf visited the Mustafai Khema Basti, at Thori Camp, Muzaffarabad on Eid Day.
  • Sardar Anwar Khan, the President Govt. of AJK visited Al-Mustafa Camps setup by Al-Mustafa and Muslim Hands and distributed Eid gifts among quake hit families in Rawalakot. 
  •  Mustafai Khema Basti at Thori Camp and Mera Tanoliaan, Muzaffarabad and Hatian Bala are considered as the largest and comprehensive shelters (tent cities) in AJK.
  • Relief Agencies and International NGOs like HRF, UNHCR, OXFAM, CARITAS, Muslim Hands International etc. have selected Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies Network for collaboration in relief activities. 
  • About 3000 Mustafai Razakars (volunteers) are actively participating in collection of relief goods and rendering services to quake victims in affected areas and khema basties.
  • Ten to fifteen thousand people are benefiting two times daily from Mustafai Langar at Sohaili Sarkar, Muzaffarabad and other Mustafai Khema Basties.
  • So far 25,000 beds, 30,000 food items, nearly 5,000 tents and 1,000 radio sets have been distributed among the quake victims of Azad Kashmir.
  •  Relief goods (tents, food, medicines etc.) of worth Rs. 250 millions have been supplied and distributed among quake victims through Al-Mustafa Relief Camps and Mustafai Kehma Basties. 
  • A medical team headed by Dr. Ghulam Qadir Fayyaz, Vice President, Al-Mustafa Society, Faisalabad performed more than one hundred operations or plastic surgery at Ayub Medical Complex, Abbotabad.
  • Three hundred tents, Food items and Tin Sheets provided to inaccessible and remote areas affected by earthquake in Abbottobad district by Al-Mustafa Society, Abbottabad under the supervision of Peer Syed Kamal Qazmi (0303-6962617).
  •  A medical team of 10 doctors led by Dr. Zahoor Danish rendered medical services in Balakot and Mansehra.

  • hairman NADRA Brig. Moeen Saleem visited Mustafai Khema Busti (MKB) to supervise NADRA mobile registration team working in the Busti. He was told that Al-Mustafa Khema Busti is the first to prepare its own software to maintain record of all occupants of Khema busti, Store of relief goods and other facilities through a team of IT students unders supervision of Prof. Imran
  • r. Saeed Ali Almansaoori president Red Crescent UAE visited Mustafai Khema Busti and donated 100 waterproof tents. Appreciating relief activities of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society he assured full assistance of Red Crescent UAE. 
  • Haji Hanif Tayyab visited MKB and inspected different facilities including Mustafai Lunger, Kitchen facilities for women, Medical hospital, Mosque, Mustafai school and Al-Mustafa Industrial Home etc. He also discussed various issues related with relief operation in AJK, Abbottabad and Manshera.   • Popular folk singer Mr. Attaullah Isa Khailvi visited Mustafai Khema Busti along with ATV Media Team. He met with the residents, consoled with and distributed cash among deserving families. He appreciated Al-Mustafa Workers on their excellent arrangements.
  • A group of educationists from International Islamic University visited Mustafai Khema Busti to ascertain educational facilities provided for the school going students of the Khema Busti. Chairman, Mustafai Foundation and Mr. Imran briefed the delegation about important features of Mustafai School established by Mustafai Foundation, Islamabad. Dr. Bukhari the leader of delegation assured all kind of assistance on behalf of Vice Chancellor IIU, Islamabad. Chairman, Mustafai Foundation told them about the immediate requirements of Mustafai School and thanked for their interest in the education of quake victims.
  • Mr. Ahmed Waqar Madni, president Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, Rawalpindi visited different Relief Camps and Mustafai Khema Busties established by Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies (Network) at chehla Bandi, Tariq Abad, Sain Sohali Sarkar, and Thori Park in  Muzaffarabad. Industrial Home:

  • In order to enhance skill of women residing in the Mustafai Khema Busti and an Industrial Home initially with a provision of 5 sewing machines has been set up.

New Ventures:

  • A new Mustafai Khema Busti with a capacity of 600 Tents, has been established at Thori Park, Muzaffarabad in collaboration with Human Relief Fund (HRF). For further information please contact Mr. Shoaib Sulehri, the coordinator. 

  • Another Mustafai Khema busti of seven hundred  (700) tents has been established at Merah Tanolian, Muzaffarabad in collobartion with UNHCR and OXFAM. More than 4500 earthquake victims  have been accommodated in the Busti. Hafiz Muhammad Khalid is supervising the camp activities. 

  • 3rd Mustafai Khema Busti  with a capacity of 500 tents has been established in collaboration with UNHCR at Hatian Balah wherein more than 3000displaced people have been provided shelter with all possible facilities. Mr. Pervaiz Khadim has been designated the camp in charge. 

  • Mr. Hanif Hijazi of Almustafa Welfare Society Kotli AJK has been designated as Director Relief and Rehabilitation from Almustafa Welfare Societies Network side, for Mustafi Khema Busties established in collaboration with UNHCR, OXFAM and HRF at Thori Park, Merah Tanolianand Hatian Bhala.  For further information please contact 0335-8101238.

Mustafai Schools:

  • A meeting of Mustafai Foundation held in Mustafai Khema Busti to the view the educational problems faced by the children hit by earthquake in different parts of the country. The Foundation expressing its great concern, decided to immediately move for establishment of Mustafai Schools in Khema Busties at Muzaffarabad, Bhag, Rawalkot, Bala-Kot and Islamabad in collaboration with Education Departments of Federal and Provincial Governments, from Philanthropists and  other NGOs

  • The Mustafai Foundation requested educational Departments to depute or allow government teachers leave with full pay and special allowances to volunteer their services in the effected areas.

  • Mr. Munir Warsi, Secretary Mustafai Foundation told that winter uniforms, jarsies and shoes are immediate required for the students of Mustafai School at Khema Busti.

Miscellaneous:

  •   A sum of Rs.1500/= was distributed to each family of Khema Busti to meet immediate and day to day requirement.

  •   Statistical survey of Mustafai Khema Basti has been completed and a report would be compiled and made available on www.AlMustafa.org, at the earliest. Prof. Imran and his team are working on this project.

  •   An internal sound system is being installed to improve communication and information system. It would help in control and coordination between management and occupants of Khema Basti.

  • Haji Bostan father of Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal Finance Secretary Mustafai Foundation died yesterday evening in Rawalpindi. Mr. Farooq Mustafai, Ahmad Waqar Najmi, Aslam Alveri, Khawaja Safdar Amin, Amjad Nazir Bhatti, large number of  educationists, social workers, friends and relatives of Haji Bostan and sons participated in Nimaz e Janaza and funeral held today in Janazagah, Harlay Street, Rawalpindi Cantt.

  • Mrs. Zubeda Jalal, Federal Minister, Social Welfare and Special Education, Government of Pakistan visited Al-Mustafa Base Camp at Mustafai Markiz,F-6/1, Islamabad. CENTRAL BASE CAMP ISLAMABAD
  • Mian Muhammad Mukhtar President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, Islamabad and Muhammad Aslam, Chairman Mustafai Foundation visited sites selected for Mustafai Khaima Basti in Sector H-11, Islamabad. Engineer Safdar Noori, Mr. Fiaz Joya and Tanver Abbasi briefed them about the development work made so far. Mian Muhammad Mukhtar expressed his satisfaction on the arrangements and cooperation of CDA, Islamabad in providing facilities. Maj Hassan of CDA also discussed further requirement of Al-Mustafa and assured his full cooperation in this regard. The incharge Mustafai Khaima Basti stressed the need for provision of free telephone line facility for better contact and coordination among the authorities, relief workers and the residents of the Basti.
  • A delegation of Women Parliamentarian due to visit Al-Mustafa Base Camp F-6/1, Islamabad Al--Mustafa Welfare complex I-8 Islamabad and Mustafai Khaima Basti Sector H-11 on 25-10-2005 afternoon. Apa Qamar-un-Nisa Ex-MNA from Karachi shall accompany the delegation. Al-Mustafa local management and Coordinator Relief Camps will receive the honorable guests. Muhamamd Aslam Alvari and Riaz-ud-Din Noori will give a visual presentation of Al-Mustafa Relief and Rescue Activities in different areas.
  • Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies Network leaders would meet the press on 25.10.2005 at 4 p.m. in Press Club Islamabad. Haji Hanif Tayab, Mian Muhammad Mukhtar and Riaz-ud-Din Noori will brief the media about relief and rescue activities of Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies Network going on in the Muzaffarabad, Rawalakakot, Bagh, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Balakot and other far flung areas hit by earthquake.
  • Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies Network set up a Khaima Basti for earthquake victims in Sector H-11 Islamabad. Development work for establishment of Khaima Basti is going on speedily. Mr. Fiaz Mujahid incharge Mustafai Khaima Basti told that CDA and other government authorities are being pursued vigorously for provision of water supply, electricity, sanitation and land leveling etc for this purpose. In the first phase 100 Khaimas (Tents) have been installed to house about 600 earthquake victims. The residents of Mustafai Khaima Basti will be provided all basic necessities including food, medicine and educational facilities. In order to avoid misuse of facilities only peoples registered by CDA or referred by Mustafai Relief Camps functioning in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Abbottabad and Mansehra would be allowed to stay. Arrangements to provide cooked food for 1000 persons have been completed. Mian Farooq Mustafai, President Al-Mustafa Welfare Society has requested  PTCL authorities to provide free telephone facility for effective coordination and management of Khaima Basti. Meanwhile Mr. Kamran Lashari Chairman CDA visited the site for Khaima Basti and assured his full cooperation in this regard. Mr. Fayaz Joya, Engineer Safdar Noori, Mr. Tanveer Abbasi and Javed Mustafai were also present on the occasion.
  • Haji Hanib Tayab participated in the night transmission of PTV World telecast yesterday night and presented details of relief and rescue activities of Al-Mustafa Welfare Societies Network going on in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakakot, Bagh, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Balakot and other far flung areas hit by earthquake.
  • Cooking team of experienced and dedicated workers reached from Faisalabad to Mustafai Basti to manage Mustafai Langar for 1000 persons per time. Mr. Sheraz Elahi a catering specialist briefed and gave guidelines to the workers about the food requirements and diet schedule of various age groups specially children and patients.
  • 50 shelter less earthquake victims residing in Islamabad camps were provided blankets, bed sheets, winter  clothes and food items .

CENTRAL BASE CAMP ISLAMABAD 
  • Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Islamabad has planned to arrange a temporary refugee camp (Mustafai Khema Basti) for earthquake victims perishing in open sky in H-11 sector Islamabad. CDA Islamabad has allocated one block of the sector for this purpose. Al-Mustafa intends to extend all possible services in the Mustafai Basti including  school, and free medical dispensary etc. Mustafai Foundation will collaborate with Al-Mustafa Welfare Society in establishment of Mustafai school. According to Engineer Safdar Amin, the coordinator, it will cost at least Rs. 50,000/ per day  for provision of food medicine and other services to the residence of Mustafai Basti. He appealed donors to help to accomplish the task.
  • Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Islamabad held meeting of its executive committee today after noon to review and monitor the progress of the relief activities at central base camp. Mian Mukhtar, the president Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, was inchair, whereas Rana Gul Nawaz, Mr. Saeed Ahmad, Fiaz Jindran Advocate, Aslam Alvari, Munir Warsi, Ch. Shahid, Fayyaz Awan, and Aslam Ch. were present.
  • PTV World telecast interview of Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab in its live transmission at 11.30 AM on 18-10-2005. He explained the details of relief and rescue activities performed by Al-Mustafa Relief Camps at Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawlakot, Mansehra and Balakot.
  • Mr. Jahangeri, President District Bar Council along with Secretry General Bar visited Central Base Camp Islamabad. Mr. Fayyaz Jindran Advocate and Mr. Raffaqat Islam Advocate were with them. The delegation was apprised the relief activities of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society being carried out by Al-Mustafa volunteers in different parts of AJK and Mansehra hit by earthquake.
  • Dr. Tasleem Qureshi and his medical team went back to Multan after rendering medical services at Al-Mustafa Relief Camp Dhuli( Bagh).
Azad Kashmir

Muzaffarabad:

  • A delegation of Al-Mustafa led by Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab and Mr.Manaf Allana had a meeting with Sardar Sikandar Hayat, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and offered services of Almustafa to establish Shelter for 500 children who had lost their parents.Rawalakot 
  • Mr. Riaz Noori, director AIM productions visited Rawalakot and got first hand knowledge of disasters. The team conducted the extensive survey of effected areas particularly  Ali Sojal, Sangula, Chitra Topi, Khai Galla. This activity is supported by the members of the Al-Mustafa Welfare Society.  After 4 days visit, Mr. Riaz Noori has reached Islamabad Base Camp.
  • Al-Mustafa Relief Camp at Rawalakot is extending relief services to the people of Ali Sojal, Kahi Gala, Tooli Bheer in District Poonch . 50 tents were sent to the remote areas.
 Bagh
  • Dr.Tasleem Qureshi and Riaz Noori with 15 volunteers from Bahauddin Zakria University, Multan, Karachi and Lahore have set up a free medical dispensary at Dhuli, 15 km from Bagh City.
  • Relief and Medical Camp at Rangla is catering the needs of the people of Komi Kot, Rahim Kot, Qumi Kot, Charagli, Sehri, Mochaal, Old Rangla, Bharian Rangla, Dir Kot, Bees Bagla, Malot, Dhuli, Hassanabad (Dr.Liaquat Gardezi), Chaarh, Hollar Syadan, Padar, Mohallah Sadad, Uchaar, Khan Mohallah.
  • Pir Amin-ul-Hasnat, Sajjada Nasheen Behra Sharif and Sahibzada Akram Shah visited Al-Mustafa Relief Camp at Rangla and appreciated the sincere efforts of Al-Mustafa and ATI workers for extending their help to earthquake victims.
  • A Medical team from Mayo Hospital Lahore also joined Al-Mustafa Medical Camp at Rangla and rendered services to the needy peoples.
  • Raja Azad Shaheen, Chairman, Union Council and Raja Sabir (Advocate), Ex-President, Bar Council, Dheerkot are associated with Al-Mustafa Workers in distribution of relief goods to the deserving families
MANSEHRA BASE CAMP
  • Mr. Anayat-ur-Rehman Siddiqui, Almustafa Coordinator for relief and rescue activities in Mansehra reports that, Almustafa Base Camp for earthquake victims has been established in Town Ship Ghazi  Kot Mansehra on the main road under supervision of Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Rajput.
  • This base camp is catering the needs of badly effected areas of Balakot, Shankiari, Jaboori and others.
  • A relief team with food items, blankets , bed sheet and winter clothes reached Balakot to distribute badly effected areas of Koi Jarpa, Mandri, and far flung villages of Naran valley. However due to road blocks, the team could not go beyond Ghanol and relief goods were distributed from this  place to other sites. The relief team included Mustafai volunteers from Karachi and interior Sindh.
  • Medical services were also extended to the injured and ailing persons in the relief camp at Ghanol.
  • A medical team under the guidance of Dr. Zahoor-ud-Din Danish and Dr. Ahmad Nawaz of Almustafa Welfare Society are providing medical services at the medical camp established at Jaboori. Uptil  now (22/10/2005), more than 3,000 patients were given treatment. An other team comprising of  surgeons and orthopedic doctors  from Lahore and Islamabad is going voluntarily to join the  camp.  
  • Al-Mustafa Welfare Society under the supervision of Molana Syed Anayat-ul-Lah distributed relief goods which included food items, blankets, tents, beds, clothes etc. in various villages of the area.

Al-MUSTAFA BASE CAMP ABBOTTABAD 

  • Al-Mustafa base camp at Abbottabad has been set up at Nawan Shehar under supervision of Pir Shah Kamal known as Pir of Toori Sharif. This camp is extending relief and rescue services in effected areas of Patton, Boee and peripheries.

  • A medical team of Al-Mustafa daily visits Ayub Medical College Hospital to extend medical services to the injured and ailing people
  • Pattan: Being far away from main city, this area remained un-accessed for rescue and relief activities. First time a caravan of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and ATI led by Pir of Tori Sharif  along with medical  staff has reached in the area and distributed food items, blankets, tents, beds, clothes etc.
  • Boee and Adjoining Areas:These areas have been destroyed by the earthquake. Al-Mustafa Welfare Society has arranged tent type houses made of  tin sheets and are being provided to the people to protect them from the cold.
